ABOUT US

Fly Hovercraft is a full-service hovercraft operations company. We plan missions, match equipment to the site, train crews, and operate amphibious craft where boats and land vehicles cannot go.

That is the work. It is also the knowledge.

Lineage

Our operating history is the history of Universal Hovercraft: forty years of design, development, and production, and hundreds of hovercraft built for recreation, commercial work, training, and specialized duty. Fly Hovercraft carries that line forward—not as a museum of old drawings, but as a working company that still designs, builds, tests, and runs the machines.

Most of our engineers, captains, pilots, and production specialists have more than twenty-five years in this field. Together they bring hundreds of years of hovercraft experience to a project. That depth shows up in the unglamorous places that decide whether a mission holds: following safe operating plans, preventative maintenance, payload and fuel margins, crew procedure, weather calls, and recovery when the terrain changes under you.

The same operating line has supported hurricane search-and-rescue, work with U.S. military services, and assignments with agencies and operators in the United States and overseas. We have taken hovercraft from concept and prototype through production, test, training, and commercial service.

Working for Professionals

A hovercraft assignment is a field operation, not a novelty. Define the terrain and the payload. Select the craft. Plan the margins. Qualify the crew. Deploy. Operate. Stay on station for support.

We manage that cycle so your team is not left with success.  Captains work to commercial standard. Safety and preparation are the method, not the closing line.

Why this tool, and why this company

Hovercraft operate in shallow water, mud, marsh, sand, ice, snow, and mixed ground that shifts by the hour. In those conditions they are often the correct logistics tool—if the operator knows the machine, the environment, and the plan.

Fly Hovercraft brings the craft, the people, and a forty-year production and operating history to that problem. Domestic or overseas. Survey, transport, training, or emergency support. We are built to plan the mission and carry it through.
