Get ready for a thrilling 2-hour adventure into the heart of hovercraft technology! It's not magic – it's STEM! Discover how the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math converge to design, build, and operate these incredible machines. We'll pull back the curtain on everything from basic principles to the advanced engineering behind massive hovercraft that can carry over 200 passengers!
Then, feel the power firsthand! You won't just learn about it – you'll experience these principles in exhilarating action with a ride aboard our very own hovercraft, "Fly One"!
STEM Hovercraft Workshop for Young Explorers
Our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program this June and July focuses on the fascinating world of hovercraft!
Students will learn all about how these amazing machines operate and uncover the STEM principles that make them fly. They'll get hands-on experience by constructing their own balloon-powered hovercraft from scratch and then testing their creations in a fun race. The highlight for many will be the chance to take a ride on "Fly One," our commercial hovercraft (weather permitting), making their learning truly unforgettable.
Positions are limited, 15 applicants per session will be chosen to participate. Participants are chosen based level of interest in STEM, answering the why you would like to participate question below and when the application is received. One parent must accompany the applicant, Both parents are welcome.
Program is completely FREE!
Dentations welcome. Donations are used to support the continuation and expansion of this program.
